Ok, thanks guys. If there is anything I can do to help I'd be happy to; I spent some time comparing the alsa and oss modules, but I'm no alsa guru; if someone can tell me vaguely where the problem might be, perhaps I might take a hack at it. I'm willing to do quite a bit of work on it, but don't know how effective I'd be.
