well the thing sounds amazing in windows! figured the drivers must
be stable by now. i will try earlier alsa 0.9 versions as well. i
really dont want to have to install my sblive to get sound under
linux. and yes, you must be the luckiest guy with an audiophile!
here is my system:
mostly stock slackware 8.0 w/ smp kernel 2.4.12
tyan tiger mp board
2x amd durons 1000MHz
geforce mx2 400 agp video
512 Mb ram
realtek 8139 lan card
2 hdd, zip250, floppy
i thought i remembered someone else having lockup problems running
an smp kernel with this card. could smp be part of the problem?
is there a preferred compiler or glibc version to use to compile
alsa drivers?

ps - does anyone know of a cd player app that rips and then plays
pcm audio rather than using the cd cable, as the audiophile doesnt
have a cd input on the card?
