Hello Everyone,
I'm new to ALSA. I'm running RH 7.2 on a Gateway PC. I'm using
an Ensonique 1371 soundcard. I've tried installing the latest beta code,
alsa-driver-0.9.0beta9. It compiles fine and installs, but when I get to
the procedure in the install "modprobe snd-card-ens1371", I get errors.
Here they are:
/lib/modules/2.4.9-13/misc/snd.o: unresolved symbol pci_free_consistent_Rfdd8bbfb
/lib/modules/2.4.9-13/misc/snd.o: unresolved symbol create_proc_entry_Ref936a06

/lib/modules/2.4.9-13/misc/snd.o: unresolved symbol remove_proc_entry_Rdb4a54a6
/lib/modules/2.4.9-13/misc/snd.o: unresolved symbol fasync_helper_R9babe6a3

/lib/modules/2.4.9-13/misc/snd.o: insmod snd-card-ens1371 failed
I then tried to go to a non-beta version, alsa-driver-0.5.9d. I
can't get it to compile. I'm getting many warnings like
"card-cmi8330.c:543:17: warning: pasting ""snd: "" and ""CMI8330/C3D
resource allocation failed\n"" does not give a valid preprocessing
token" on practically every line. The message is different every time.
The compile ultimately abends at "timer.c:1236:17: warning:
pasting ""snd: "" and ""unable to register system timer (%i)\n"" does
not give a valid preprocessing token timer.c:1239:17: warning: pasting
""snd: "" and ""unable to register timer device (%i)\n"" does not give a
valid preprocessing token ld -r -o ../modules/snd-timer.o timer.o
/bin/sh: -c: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `;' /bin/sh: -c:
line 1: `for d in ; do if ! make -C $d; then exit 1; fi; done' make[1]:
*** [all] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory
`/home/perry/develop/alsa-driver-0.5.9d/kernel' make: *** [compile]
Error 1"
I'd love to get the driver working as I'm trying to set it up so
I can use SpeakFreely. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
