I'm looking for an inexpensive way to get a digital audio connection from my Linux-based Home Theatre PC to my receiver. The Hercules Fortissimo II (CS4624) seems to fit the bill, but the sound card matrix only lists the chipset CS4624, and does not show any digital outputs associated with that chipset. Using ALSA, will the TOSLINK outputs work on a Fort II? If not, can someone recommend an alternative card with digital (coax or optical) output supported?
