Hi,

I have been doing a bit of alsa stuff, so:
I deinstalled _everything_ I could find concerning alsa.
I installed the newest stable driver libary and utilities. Following the
INSTALL files _very_ tight. I did exactly what it said there.
After I had insterted the emu10k1 module and after having given the card some
volume, again, I was able to play mp3's admirably. Then I tried xine.

If I play a video (it was an avi, "The Matrix") using the alsa driver (-A
alsa05), then I get massive syncronisation problems (many secs) after e.g.
skiping to the middle of the film I got near 5 sec.
Also: I get repeating sound when pressing pause, which is very anoying.

If I play the same video with the oss emulation (-A oss), then The sync is
good, as allways with oss there are _tiny_ differences (0.1 sec maybe), also,
pause gives me a pause in sound too. (No infinite replays of the last
seconds).

So, at the moment it is better to use oss-emulation. Before I had to install
alsa freshly (because of a kernel change) I did not have the mentioned
problems while using (-A alsa05) (I had _perfect_ sync and normal pause).

So, I'm wondering: What could I be doing wrong ?

Please help me
Thanks in advance

Peter
