So, Mandrake successfully set up sound to use the OSS/free drivers. What 
problems do you have? Try to raise volumes and unmute channels with
a mixer like kmix if you have installed KDE.

Ummm, did you try [EMAIL PROTECTED] ?  I know at least one person
got a SB Live working with ALSA and LM8.0 . See the Mandrake website for 
mailing list subscription and archive info.
