I have an SB PCI512 on a 2.4.13 kernel running the latest ALSA drivers (0.9beta9). At first I would only get the left channel output (i.e. nothing came from the right speaker and I was missing the right channel sound). I tried everything with alsamixer, and tried gamix, but the program kept segfaulting when I would change things. So I downloaded the document from CVS on the EMU10K1 and tried to hand edit the settings according to that document and restore them to the card and the most I could accomplish was a very overpowering left channel and a very faint right channel.
Any ideas on why I can't get a nice even sound? Please CC: all responses to this address as I am not a member of this mailing list. I also looked through most of the 2001 archives and couldn't find anyone who had this same problem.
