Hey, I've been reading about the alsa project, and i have a bunch of questions:
1) What's the purpose? From what i read on the website, it seemed like it was to provide a better api? 2) Does it work w/ the 2.4.x kernels? All the docs (HOWTO, etc) only have info on 2.0 and 2.2 kernels... other stuff i read leads me to believe that it does have 2.4 support. Can i use alsa w/ my 2.4 kernel? 3) What would be the advantage to me if i switched over to alsa (i have an es1371)... i guess this question is pretty related to #1. 4) My joystick doesn't work on the 2.4 series (on the 2.2 series it did, but when i chose to enable es1371 support, it asked me if i wanted joystick too)... Will alsa allow me to use my joystick (or is that completely unrelated?) I think that's it... unless there's something else a stranger should now. Thanks, Cameron Matheson _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
