i have alsaplayer-0.99.57.tar.bz2 and ./configure spit out a table of the Install path and other plugins it would build like jack support or which alsa version etc, if you don't get that, i'd say you have a corrupted file?. just try redownload it and run ./configure --prefix=/path/to/install and then make. it should work, i guess. i say i guess because i compiled and built it but i dont't think alsaplayer has support for mult i/o cards. so. . good luck :) -mark
