Tried it - except used -d instead off -c.  (-c complains the file already had 
a .bz2 suffix.)

Results were the same.  "./configure" makes empty makefiles and "make 
install" complains that " ... there is no rule to make target 'install.' "  
because the makefiles are all empty.  I've downloaded it twice, but I'll try 
again.
