the reason why alsaplayer doesn't work with the hammerfall cards is
because it can't run full duplex cards with the alsa libs. if i'm wrong,
please point it out because i'd love to run alsaplayer on my delta 44.
HOWEVER, if you have an RME card,  to get it to work you have to
build the JACK plugin. apparantly the person who built jack has a
hammerfall card as
hardware to test jack on. so alsaplayer WILL work with RME cards only if
you
have the jack library built. look it up in the alsaplayer list archives to
verify what i've said.

i think the call turn out to be something like: alsaplayer -o JACK or
something like that
