Hello all!
I happily compiled and installed alsa-0.9beta12 and alsaconf 0.4.3b on
my linux pc (linux suse 7.3, kernel 2.4.10-4GB). But then I called the
alsaconf and I tried to configure my onboard-card which was no problem
with alsa0.5.10b, which was included in the distro. But now I couldn't
configure my via 686, nor could I even set up a dummy card. Always after
configuring I got a message like:
Device not found, maybe your card was not correctly detected.
Since when, does the alsaconf-skript no autodetection? And where can I
find something like rcalsasound for starting and stopping the driver
automatically? Would anyone know something like alsaconf (console-based),
which at least tries an automatic detection and configuration of cards?
  Thanks for anything in advance!
  My kindest regards
        Julien
