Hi. I'm having a hell of a time getting input from my microphone. I hope someoene can shove me in the right general direction.
I've got the drivers (0.9.0rc1) installed and working. My Line and Mic inputs work perfectly when I plug my CD player into them, so that's fine. My microphone works just fine on my iMac. Hardware and driver problems seem to be mostly out for now. I'm figuring that all I need is to bump up the input gain, but can I? No, it seems. amixer shows me this entry: Simple mixer control 'Mic Boost (+20dB)',0 Capabilities: pswitch pswitch-joined Playback channels: Mono Mono: Playback [on] Looks like just the thing, but it's resisting all efforts to prod it into action. alsamixer shows me a "Mic Boost" slider, but it won't slide or respond in any way whatsoever.
