Ok, i did that, but it doesn't help: [florin@rivendell florin]$ ls -l /dev/snd/* crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 116, 0 Jul 22 22:37 /dev/snd/controlC0 crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 116, 24 Jul 22 22:37 /dev/snd/pcmC0D0c crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 116, 16 Jul 22 22:37 /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 116, 33 Jul 22 22:37 /dev/snd/timer [florin@rivendell florin]$ I changed snd_device_mode to 0600, and the permissions changed in /dev/snd, so it looks like the setting does makes a difference. However, i still can run alsamixer only as root. This is incredibly frustrating, because i used ALSA in the past, and it worked fine. -- Florin Andrei http://florin.myip.org/ ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
