Hello list:

Problem: I can successfully compile alsa-drivers but when I run modprobe
snd-sbawe (or its alias snd-card-0) which is the module for my sbawe64
soundcard I get the following error:

[root@FarNorth misc]# modprobe snd-sbawe
/lib/modules/2.2.20alsa/misc/snd-pcm.o: unresolved symbol
snd_malloc_pci_pages
/lib/modules/2.2.20alsa/misc/snd-pcm.o: unresolved symbol snd_free_pci_pages
/lib/modules/2.2.20alsa/misc/snd-pcm.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.2.20alsa/misc/snd-pcm.o failed
/lib/modules/2.2.20alsa/misc/snd-pcm.o: insmod snd-sbawe failed
[root@FarNorth misc]#

I have an older ISA bus computer and my kernel does not have PCI support
built in (why should it?). I'm using the latest alsa-driver-0.9.0rc3
drivers. I've deleted the unwanted isapnp.h link

I'm using the linux 2.2.20 kernel on a redhat 7.0 computer

I've tried installing alsa on 3 different computers and my success rate has
been 1 out of 3. This computer is not taking it.

Thanks for your time,

frustrated alsa user
