Hello, Recently, I've solved my "no-sound" problems using the ALSA development version on CVS. Only this version has the intel's 845 chipset (ICH4) support advanced enough.
But I have two more little problems I cannot solve without some help 1) The sound very quiet, even with all volume controls at maximum. 2) When starting any sound application (by now RealPlayer and aplay) the application hangs for a minute or more, and then runs normally. This doesn't happen in subsequent runs of the same command: playing starts immediately. But when another app takes control of the sound device (for example, after generating a "Konsole" beep) the delay reappears... Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
