Hi!

I've bought a Sony Vaio PCG-GR214EP notebook with an Analog Devices
AD1881A soundcard in it (Sony validated that information), so I tried to
use the snd-intel8x0 driver, following the description on
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/template.php3?company=Analog+Devices&card=AD1881A&chip=AD1881A&module=intel8x0.
I'm using alsa-lib/driver/utils-0.9.0rc6 at the moment, but I also tried
0.9.0.cvs20020903-32 (included in SuSE Linux 8.1) and 0.9.0.cvs20020320-12 (included
in SuSE Linux 8.0) with the same results.

The problem is that the sound is completely disturbed and gets much too
late. Some examples: When I turn up the volume in KDE, I can hear the
speaker cracking. Then I try to open the console und just pushing
backwards (to get the alarm-sound). After a few minutes, I can hear some
parts of the sound, but extremely disturbed. When using xmms, the song
is finished as I start it and GLTron doesn't have any sound at all.

Does anybody have an idea what I could do? If you need further
information, please ask me...

Ignaz
