Hi there,
I installed alsa-drivers-0.9.0rc6 and I think it installed correctly.
I also installed the utility and library package as well. My problem
is that I get a segmentation fault when I try to list /proc/asound.
Also, when I invoke amixer it gives a bunch of simple controls, but
when I try to set a simple control, such as the 'Master' control it
displays the segmentation fault message stuff as well. Anyone know
what's wrong?
I'm using linux kernel version 2.4.17 on a debian dist, not the lastest
though, with gcc 3.2.1 or something. According to lspci, my audio
chipset is an SIS 7012. I'm using an MSI motherboard running a 1.6GHz
P4 based on the SIS 645 chipset if that helps.
Thanks
Thong Nguyen
