Greetings all. I am new to Linux, am running RH-8 (2.4.18-19.8.0) and an
old ISA, Soundblaster Pro 2 Model CT1600 soundcard. I'm trying to install
driver-0.5.12a, lib-0.5.10b and
utils-0.5.10. I followed the Quick Install instructions and all attempts
resulted in failed config. I have no sound support.

Driver config resulted in a config error message saying: "install
v0.3.0pre5+ package first."

The others also had error messages saying, "libasound headers version 0.5.8
or greater needed."

I tried to find these files without success. Is my soundcard too ancient?
Could someone please suggest a course of action? Thanking you in advance
for sharing your expertise.

Frank
