yes, my bios config seems to set some unusual ports, which might be part of the problem - i have irq=9...
i might try the alsaconf script - never used it before, always worked by hand...

the port, irq and dmas are depending on the bios configuration,
though.

you can try alsaconf script included in alsa-driver/utils, too.
