Andreas, The woody debian package is using an older version of the alsa-drivers... this is the version info given:
0.9+0beta12-3 I'll grab the CVS and install that instead before I start fiddling with that function, although what you are saying does make sense... that driver seems to have changed substantially in the newer versions. For the record, /proc/interrupts, and I'm using 2.4.18 with no low latency patch and I'm not using a sound server: plinth:/home/nelf# cat /proc/interrupts CPU0 0: 2927254 XT-PIC timer 1: 2 XT-PIC keyboard 2: 0 XT-PIC cascade 8: 3 XT-PIC rtc 10: 0 XT-PIC usb-uhci 11: 3457 XT-PIC usb-uhci, eth0 12: 0 XT-PIC usb-uhci, i82365 14: 11060 XT-PIC ide0 NMI: 0 ERR: 0 Iain On Mon, 10 Mar 2003, Andreas Mohr wrote: > Hi, > > On Sun, Mar 09, 2003 at 03:19:07PM -0800, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > Message: 1 > > Date: Sun, 9 Mar 2003 22:42:44 +0000 (GMT) > > From: Iain Kennedy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: [Alsa-user] VIA8233 Debian Woody Intermittent PCM Distortion > > > > Hello, > > > > I've installed debian and it's alsa packages just fine on my Via EPIA > > mainboard, and configured it according to the instructions from the alsa > > website.
