hi,
i just installed alsa-*-0.9.1 and hoped that the spdif in/out would work now
but it doesn't. yes, i've turned everything on in envy24control -c 1,
but all i get is silence... i also played around with alsamixer:
i found:
Card: TerraTec DMX6Fire
Chip: ICE1712 - multitrack
Item: Optical Digital Input
but i'm not able to switch it on? (is unmuted == on?)
same with
Item: Front Digital Input
i've got two cards:
$ cat /proc/asound/cards

the spdifs of the DSP24 are working, though...
i've got a front panel (MicroWavePC) on the terratec DMX6fire that includes
the spdif inputs and outputs...

i know there was shipped a small digital io board with the 6fire with spdif
i/o, that would probably work with the driver, but i didn't install it,
because i've got no more space (no more slots) ;)
btw: i've got the LT version (light, because normally theres a new front
panel included with much more/different i/o and stuff...)
the spdifs on the front panel work (of course) perfectly with win2k
but i have to turn the microwave OFF in the microwave editor:

i've got 4 possible modes:
1. STANDARD - microWave PC to EWS-Digital IN
normal EWS-Digital OUT 1+2
2. RECORDING - microWAVE PC off
Normal EWS Digital-IN, just EWS-Digital OUT 1.
3. Xternal IN - microWAVE PC to EWS Digital IN,
EWS-Digital IN through microWAVE PC synthesis,
just EWS-Digital OUT 1.
4. EWS to microWAVE PC - EWS Digital OUT to microWAVE PC synthesis,
Output of synthesized signal
only to physical OUT 1 (no internal loopback)
i need to use 2. RECORDING mode to enable the optical input on the front.
is that possible?
will the front panel ever be supported by alsa?.
it would be cool if i could make use of the microwave synth in 1. STANDARD
mode under linux ;) it just needs to get the firmware and some soundbank
uploaded... i don't know how difficult it is to program...
maybe the hardest thing is getting information from terratec about the
module...?
secondly: where could i find a ChangeLog of the ice1712 driver &
envy24control?
