Hi,
Good to hear from you. OK, I've been running a A7V266-E for a couple
of years for my Pro Tools rig. It's a great MB. That box is dual-boot,
runs RH 7.3 with an RME HDSP 9652 and it's been a great box. I do run
Jack for everything, so that is a difference, but I'm really pretty
confident we can get you working. (I hope!)

OK, just a bit more info:

1) Please run hdparm -tT and send back the data. You're only reporting
the buffered speed to the cache on the disk, and not the actual drive
speeds. Let's make sure DMA is really on and the drive is doing a good
job.

2) It appears that your video card is sharing an interrupt with the
Sound Blaster. Is this SB on-board, or is this a second sound card? My
version of the -E MB doesn't have on-board sound. Anyway, I'd like to
see you go into BIOS, and move the interrupt for this sound device to
IRQ 11, which should also move the video card since it's shared in your
current configuration. This will be better for your video. At IRQ 4 it's
actually behind your disk drives and really in a pretty strange place
operationally.

Give these couple of things a try and let me know how it's going.

Good luck,
Mark
