Sorry that this note is public, but as of yesterday evening your SMTP servers no longer accept email from me because I have a cable modem connection. One of the sillier anti-spam measures IMO. So far it's bounced both a piece of advice about "alias snd-card-0," which you figured out on your own, and a response to your latest message.
In any case, I'm glad to see that ignoring the instructions in INSTALL and changing the module name to snd-via686 worked.
