Hi 

Snd-config is for OSS modules not ALSA. 

If you have modules.conf setup correctly (if not look at the info page
for your sound-card on the alsa website) .. you will find the easiest
way to start your drivers is using the alsasound script found in 

../alsa-driver/utils/

Simply type in "./alsasound restart" from the above directory that will
start your driver correctly.

Modules also make configuring easier. i..e I can't use my mtpav while I
have printer modules loaded. As neither are hardcoded into the kernel I
can unload the printer modules and load in the ALSA modules for the
MTPAV when I want to use it.
