I have seen this question posted recently but noone replied to this question.
Why do these controls not work?
second issue is rather interesting...
I have 2 cards, a via onboard ac97 (via82xx) and the sblive!
the via sucks, badly but thats what I get for getting a board with onboard sound. ANYHOW..
the sblive, has always been a good card to me. it has worked with oss, alsa, you name it. its problematic in window$ tho. understandable...
my problem with it and the capture is rather annoying, but i can live with it...
what happens is that when I start the machine, initially it will not grab sound via the microphone.
what I have to do to get the sound back, is unload the module, and re-load it.
so i thought, big deal... its probably the load order thats hairy.
so i tried loading it first, then the via, then snd-oss ect
i tried loading the sblive, then the via, and snd-oss... you name it.
ive tried just about every order i can think of. but until i load, and unload that module, i have no sound capture.
i can unmute the mic, and hear myself. but no audio will be captured.
i know this is really odd, but does anyone have an idea on either of these issues?
