In case this helps anyone else...

I've installed ALSA drivers 0.9.6 and sound is working again.

Zinf works fine with the OSS plugin, but still gives a problem with the ALSA
plugin. When you hit 'Stop', instead of stopping, the current sample repeats
indefinitely. However, XMMS works fine with the ASLA plugin, so this may well
be a Zinf bug not ALSA.
