I use Mandrake 9.2 rc2 + cooker updates
envy24control-0.9.6-1mdk
Audacity : audacity-1.2.0-0.pre1.2mdk
Card midiman Delta 44 - Ice 1712 
        (looks to be the same family than Terratec DMX 6Fire 24/96)


To run envy24control:
$  envy24control -i 4 -o 4 -s 0

Audacity allow to set the number of channels from 1 to 16
with the menu:  File -> Preference 

Works fine !
