I have a STA/Hoontech DSP24 MKII installed on Debian ( woody bf2.4.18 ) running under ALSA (0.9) using the ice1712 driver. I have also compiled the envy24control from alsa-tools-0.1.0. All the drivers and programs appear to run without errors and I am able to use the envy24control.
I am not sure how to access the XLR balanced outputs for playback and recording. How would they be identified in the envy24control? Also, how are they named/identified in the asound.conf or alsa.conf? The test I would like to perform is to play audio out of one XLR output and record it on one of the XLR inputs ( in a loop ). I am assuming that once I get the card set up properly, I can use aplay and arecord for this purpose. I need to know how to route a PCM playback to an XLR output and then route an XLR input to one of the PCM capture channels. I am not very experience with audio equipment terminology or mixer technology so I might be missing something really obvious. Please let me know if there is any other information I could provide that would help you help me! Thanks, Dan Nephin e-Radio Inc.
