David: I have the same mb (Abit AN7). I installed all kind of kernels 2.6.* (in GENTOO distro... very good by the way :). But, i've get the same problem so far... So, i think the problem is from ALSA. I'm waitting a new release. Btw, i've tried with ALSA from kernel (module and built-in) and from driver. The same result. Bye
