Is there something extra needed to enable the synthesizer on the sound card (ESS
Solo1, using snd-es1938). It seems that everything is setup correctly: all modules
load without errors, and pmidi sees the ports

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ pmidi -l
 Port Client name Port name
 64:0 Rawmidi 0 - MPU-401 (UART) 0-0 MPU-401 (UART) 0-0
 65:0 OPL3 FM synth OPL3 FM Port

All attempts to use port 65:0, never produce sound or errors, but it appears to go
through the motions: the pmidi commands do not return until the song is finished.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /proc/asound/seq/clients
Client info
  cur clients : 4
  peak clients : 5
  max clients : 192

Client 0 : "System" [Kernel]
  Port 0 : "Timer" (Rwe-)
  Port 1 : "Announce" (R-e-)
    Connecting To: 63:0
Client 63 : "OSS sequencer" [Kernel]
  Port 0 : "Receiver" (-we-)
    Connected From: 0:1
Client 64 : "Rawmidi 0 - MPU-401 (UART) 0-0" [Kernel]
  Port 0 : "MPU-401 (UART) 0-0" (RWeX)
Client 65 : "OPL3 FM synth" [Kernel]
  Port 0 : "OPL3 FM Port" (-We-)
  Port 1 : "OPL3 OSS Port" (-we-)

Also, is the MIDI uart now supported in the snd-es1938 driver?
