Hello,

I use kernel 2.6.3 with the shipped alsa-drivers and tried also the
newest alsa drivers 1.0.2c on the Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo D 8830 Laptop.
It has a Pentium 4 with the Intel i845 chipset. I have always the same
error (here alsa 1.0.2c):

Feb 25 00:27:23 lapp31000 kernel: PCI: Enabling device 0000:00:1f.5
(0005 -> 0007)

Feb 25 00:27:24 lapp31000 kernel: Intel ICH: probe of 0000:00:1f.5

I also tried earlier versions, also oss-system. Still the same problems.
Seems as if my soundcard is unsupported ;(

Here the output of lspci:

Specifications of the soundcard (as written on the label): VT1612A and I
heard about the Windowsdriver that has the title "Via AC 97". I hope
that I provided all necessary information.

Thanks in advance!
