ALSA is compiled as a module. The ALSA version is 1.0.2c (standard for kernel 2.6.4). I'm running envy24control and using aplay to output to a device specified as:
I am not using any .asoundrc file and aplay works ok here. I thought it may be the .asoundrc, but if it works with the 2.4 series of kernels, then it must be something else.
I will be interested to hear how you go.
