Fons, as a sound engineer you are probably aware o imaginary
sound source which are mirror images of speakers in walls,
ceiling and floor just like imaginary light source in mirross.

So, depending on the placement of speakers it may be not that bad.

Anyway, Ron Smits is correct about "the feeling that the alsa material
is aimed towards the card and not towards the speakerset that is attached
to it".

And yes, I have to allocate some time to prepare the ALSA HAL proposal.
