I didn't know about this, I had tried to disable the oss plugins in the config, and that hadn't solved the problem like I explained in my prior mail. Thanks to you (I didn't know about this oss config options) I have now tried changing the oss plugins config and I have solved the skype issue. What I had to do is to echo "skype 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss and that solved the thing, if I did the same thing with the capture interface my voice had the wrong frequency, so, to solve the thing I had to leave the capture with an empty config and the playback with that direct config and now skype seems to work ok. > Also, trying aoss wrapper would be a good idea, too, in general. That is not a good idea with skype, as it doesn't like aoss at all. Well, I don't know if what I found to solve or workaround this problem with skype means that skype has a bug or that alsa has a bug, or maybe it is just normal to need this kind of stuff, I'm just letting you guys know so that if you feel this is a bug on alsa with ancient hardware we can work it out.
