Don't want to disappoint you, but I am currently using ubuntu 6.0.6.....
I assume that using an RME soundcard with linux is quit seldom, so that
there are not that much samples or content concerning the configuration of
the soundcard. I would be fine if whoever has a working combination or at
least a part of a working combination posts some info's about that here, and
I am willing to create a kind of installation manual (when I have a working
combination) and post that on the alsa website.
I have tried ubuntu 6.0.6 in combination with alsa 1.0.10 and Knoppix
LiveDVD 5.0 with alsa 1.0.11. This is the .asoundrc I used (actually from an
m-audio 1010 soundcard):
