I'll chime in that we used it for performance issues and researching .Net 
bugs in MS and third party libraries... Probably and systems engineering 
kind of folk would put .Net Reflector at the top of their useful tools 
lists.

I don't know if someone else mentioned there are/were some cool plugins:
