This draft is the continuation of what we have presented at the San Francisco IETF meeting (in conjunction with the H1H2 draft and the follow-up discussions by the chairs): http://www.ietf.org/proceedings/74/slides/alto-3.pdf The draft describes another way, similar to the oracle approach, on how the ALTO client can query the ALTO server. The draft is not meant to be a competitor to the ALTO protocol, but we see the H12 as a good alternative service plug-in for the ALTO protocol itself.
