I do support the progress of this document. Just one single comment, on security considerations. The ALTO server can have multiple ALTO clients consuming the same updates. Section 9.1 states that "an ALTO client might create an unreasonable number of TIPS views". However, in situations where can exist multiple clients, even reasonable number of TIPS views can deal to Denial-of-Service Attacks if the number of clients is large. So maybe it could be advisable to limit the number of simultaneous ALTO clients and/or properly dimensioning the number of simultaneous ALTO clients to prevent DoS attacks by attackers that could create an insane number of clients with that purpose (e.g., sharing clients among instances, limiting the number of - total - requests, etc).
