Wow sounds like it will be a great event and a good test of your yagi pointing skills!
It seems that as you go higher and/or go from 3->5->7 element yagis... pointing becomes more important. So far I have been pretty slack with my yagi pointing... Once i forgot completely and just left the yagi on the table and i lost reception on the way up after 450m then i picked the yagi (5-element) up and started searching for the rocket just after apogee Looking at the TM data later on corresponding to that time with the rocket at about 2500m 8kft... - before i had spotted the rocket and while i was just waving the yagi around the sky the RSSI was about -95 - as soon as i spotted the rocket and pointed the yagi at it the RSSI went up to -80 Wouldnt it be nice to have a yagi on a servo with a feedback loop from the telemetry data for azimuth/elevation! One other thought for a possible enhancement to altosui...
