Oh, I've had problems with Sirf chips even locating rockets -- they take
a *long* time to figure out where they are after vertical motion has
calmed down. Ballistic descents can give them no opportunity to adjust,
leaving you with a poor idea of where the hole is located.

We used Skytraq parts before the Ublox, which provided good position
information for lat/lon for the whole flight, but which didn't provide
useful altitude information.

It's all a trade-off between position accuracy and response to dynamics,
the Ublox gives you a nice knob to adjust between a few modes, and we
pick the mode which allows for the greatest acceleration. This does
reduce positional accuracy a bit, but it seems like a good trade-off for
this application.
