All Altus Metrum software is open source and will remain free of
charge. Unfortunately, there are both legal and technical reasons that
our code just can't be used on devices based on Apple's iOS. Those of
you that have hung out with us at launches when this topic came up know
just how frustrating this has been to Keith and me since we first
started Altus Metrum.

We are immensely fortunate that our friends at Iron Sheep, an iOS
applications development shop, got excited enough about the new
Bluetooth LE support in TeleBT version 4 that they've written a new
application for iOS that works with Altus Metrum products completely
from scratch!

We're really pleased that there's iOS support for our products now, and
that you have the choice of using your iPhone or iPad if you
want... even if the independently developed app is something you have to
pay a modest fee for. Our understanding is that it's a one-time, once
per family, fee for the app. That seems completely reasonable to us
given the large number of hours we know went into developing the app and
getting it approved for inclusion in the Apple app store!

Yep! Works fine. And, in fact, we've been talking with Iron Sheep
about how to better support TeleGPS in both the new iOS app and
AltosDroid in the future.
