The wording in that message can be misleading (and it has been changed
for 2.4.2). What it really means is that Amanda stopped writing to
tape and **some** dump images **might** be still in the holding disk,
depending on how big they were.
Take a look at your holding disk and see if you have a directory with a
datestamp-like name and if it, in turn, has backup image files in it.
If it's not there, then the amdump run couldn't fit anything else and
there isn't anything to flush. If it is there, then it's some other
kind of problem.
