Where is that "file:" coming from? Your disklist? I don't think it
should be there.

I think you have /bin/tar listed someplace it should not be in one of
the Amanda config files. Amanda is trying to look for it as a directory,
hence the "/." at the end of the name.
Grep through amanda.conf and your disklist for /bin/tar and report back
where it shows up.
