Could you post the command you're using that generates the error, and the exact text of the error? Also the version of AMANDA you're using would be helpful.

i have a problem with my clients. I will test my tape server, the client is
installed on the server. I*%ve found the error on the FAQ*%s site and i*%ve done
all steps, but the error repeating all the time.
What can i do??? I have changed the rights and owner of all amanda programs in
the directories /usr/local/libexec and in /usr/local/sbin.
