>Does anyone know if Amanda will work on a L20? ...

Sorry nobody has answered you. I don't know for 100% certain this
would work without a hitch, but in general Amanda can drive just about
anything. Most of the changers depend on some other external program
to make the robot move and then just act as syntax glue between Amanda
and that program. One such is mtx that you should be able to find
references to in the mailing list archives.

New with 2.4.2 is a much improved direct SCSI changer that issues the
commands itself. According to the web page, the L20 is SCSI based,
as most changers are these days, so I would bet it would either work
right away or with minimal changes, of which there are people on the
list who can help you get those done.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, but if you're asking if a
"real robot", i.e. something that can move tapes from random locations
to random drives as compared to something like a gravity stacker, can
be run with an Amanda "changer", the answer is yes. I have a large ATL
physical robot that works fine, and a 24/7 Operations staff that behave
like robots (it's kind of funny to watch :-).
