Let me comment on that anyway..
I don't konw if they are documented anywhere but it seems RH gives fairly
little documentation on the solutions they've used to get all those
programs running side-by-side and co-ordinatedly. I recently found out
that in RH7 I can set the DMA flags into /etc/sysconfig/harddisks. I never
noticed this before. All I've learned has been by digging around and
seeing how they've done it. Other distributions show the same line.
I don't know if there is a "redhat manual" somewhere but I might like to
see it if there is. It's much easier to use mechanisms in place than to
try to sew things together with your own scripts.
