When using an HP colorado 7/14 travan (same as the 10/20 with a diff tape)
running FreeBSD 3.5 should I be using it as tapedev or rawtapedev. The faq
mentioned that not using the tapedev (no-rewind) option is a cause for much
confusion with new configs so I used that. The problem is, when I try to label
a tape I get:
amlabel std std01
rewinding, reading label, not an amanda tape
rewinding, writing label std01, checking label
amlabel: no label found, are you sure /dev/rwst0 is non-rewinding?
and when I use it as a rawtapedev at this point I get:
rewinding, reading label /dev/null, tape is in another amanda configuration
rewinding
tape not labeled
so I give it -f so it will just shut up and do it, but then:
rewinding, reading label /dev/null, tape is in another amanda configuration
rewinding, writing label std01, checking label
amlabel: read label /dev/null back, timestamp X (expected X), what now?
So I now turn to you, to answer the question amanda has given me... what now?
