Okay, thanks for all the input last time, I have now switched to user operator
again and it is happy and working... somewhat... now I get an even more
ambiguous error... here is the error:

dhcp /dev/ida/c0d0p7 lev 0 FAILED [can't switch to incremental dump]
dhcp /dev/ida/c0d0p8 lev 0 FAILED [can't switch to incremental dump]
dhcp /dev/ida/c0d0p12 lev 0 FAILED [can't switch to incremental dump]
dhcp /dev/ida/c0d0p5 lev 0 FAILED [can't switch to incremental dump]
dhcp /dev/ida/c0d0p6 lev 0 FAILED [can't switch to incremental dump]

any ideas... and again the machines name is dhcp because it is our new dhcp server
not a dhcp addressed machine. So what does this can't switch to incremental dump
error
mean exactly. There is nothing on it in the amdump manpage?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Phil
