/dev/sdan where n is the number of the partition

Does that device actually exist ?
Does the amanda user on the client have permission to access it ?
Actually, I've just realized that even though the examples for
disklist show using the device, I have been using the filesystem
mount point, i.e.
dalom /usr comp-high
Does this make much difference ?
